The Latest Stuff

I've been doing a fair amount of remixing lately, though I may take a break soon and try to concentrate on a couple of original music projects. Lots of variety lately too.

From ccmixter, I threw a mash up together of J. Lang with G'Wills and Nails being backed up by Chuck D. and the Fine Arts Militia. Check out Chuck Lang. Warning......"NSFW" :)

Coming up on remixfight, I threw together an Indian-themed dancey remix of Ajai's fine track called "Diljuba". You can here my remix here.

Making Love features the fine vocal stylings of Snowflake. The rest is mine.

Nothing Compares features Distorted Mastermind's unique flow with my backing mix.

Nights in Tokyo are Shallow features the spoken word of yamamiya with vocal drones by ztutz.

Bring the Music Back sees 4ensic square off against Clarance "dramatic pause" Boddyker.

enjoy.

A Couple by Lisa and I

I did a couple remixes recently featuring the really nice vocal work of Lisa DeBenedictis, a Magnatune artist who contributed a couple of her tracks to ccmixter. I really enjoyed working with her vocals on these 2 remixes.

"The Same But Different" is my take on her track "Brilliant".

"Supergirl" is my take on her track "Girl and Supergirl".

Both tracks available from her CD, available on Magnatune.

More LonelyGirl15

I guess LonelyGirl15 must like my remixes, as she (they?) used another one for her latest video. Here, her fake boyfriend "Daniel" discusses Aleister Crowley while my remix of Brad Sucks "Work Out Fine" plays intermittently in the background. This one was posted yesterday.

I mean, I'm not complaining about the publicity (the last video she used my remix in had over a quarter of a million hits), or the Creative Artists Agency connection (feel free to contact me about future work...), so feel free to keep using my mixes there "Bree", but man, I just don't get it. I must be too old for this shit.

More Tube

Another one of my remixes found it's way onto YouTube recently. Rohan Harris, an independent filmaker from Australia (i think), recently used my remix of Brad Sucks "Borderline" for the trailer for his new short. Apparently, he also used my remix of Spinning Merkaba (Mammoth) for the closing credits of the film. he posted the trailer on YouTube. See below.

LonelyGirl15 and I

A recent article in USA Today, as well as the LA Times, confirms the recent phenomenon known as LonelyGirl15, a YouTube blogger that seems to have captured the fancy of a voyeuristic world. LonelyGirl15 puts together these shamelessly stupid videos, but she's so damn cute and endearing, with her big doe eyes, that you just think "oh, how cute..." instead of "oh, how stupid....".

Anyways, i'm sure you're wondering why i'm talking about this. It's because LonelyGirl15 somehow stumbled across my music and is using my remix of Grant Schindler's "Remained" in one of her dumb videos. I think they might have stumbled on it from ccmixter, as I think there are a couple other ccmixter mixes she uses in her videos. She's also apparently the number one downloaded video host on YouTube.

One of the articles mentions a possible CAA connection, so if anyone from CAA wants to contact me about future work opportunities, my email link is there on the right.

So here you go.....

Hot as Piss

Ophelia features Marinella Mastrosimone's vocal track over my backing mix.

Double K features Ms. Vybe trading flow with Annie2K with a backing mix by prof. m.Stereo.

2 new remixes today

I did 2 new remixes today that I think turned out pretty good. The first one was the latest Remixfight!, which I was originally going to sit out not because I didn't like the source material, but more a lack of time and energy. I threw something together in a couple hours this morning while I had my coffee. Some people like their sunday paper, I like my sunday morning remix. :)

Check out my take on Father Bingo's "Dry Lots and Red Ones", and check out the other fine remixes over on remixfight.

Dry Lots and Red Ones - Father Bingo remixed

I also threw together a remix of Spinning Merkaba's song "Elephant". I used mostly his original source tracks, with me doing the beats.

Mammoth - Spinning Merkaba remixed

enjoy.

Mashter of Ceremonies

So the MC is kind of a misnomer in my moniker as I really don't rap, just more or less remix and produce under this name. But I do mash, so I guess calling myself a mashter of ceremonies isn't too far off. Speaking of mash, I've got a whole bunch of new mashups posted on ccmixter. I've been doing alot of remixing lately, I guess just inspired by alot of the source I've been working with. Lots of different styles and genres keeps things interesting. So with that said, here we go......

Fly features vocals by Spinning Merkaba. He also provided the acoustic and clean electric guitar on this. I did the rest of the music. This one rocks hard.

Nada is a remix of "NadaNada" by SilviaO, a pop singer from Columbia. Vocals by SilviaO and music by me. Very well received on ccmixter.

Remained is a pretty straight forward remix of "Remain", a song by Grant Schindler. Only his original source tracks were used in this remix, which i really like.

Sex and Payola features a whole bunch ccmixter artists including ran dumb dots, dreamfilter, V.E.R.A., and nimmo.

Diplomacy features Clarance Boddyker rapping over some Pat Chilla the Beat Gorilla, with some added strings by rjmarshall.

give them a listen and share if you like.

Naked Remixes

My original song "Naked on the Meach" is being featured over on remixfight right now, with a bunch of cool versions posted. Check them out, they are awesome.

Speaking of awesome, the awesome teru also took some of my naked source material and threw together a nice little mashup of me and Brad Sucks. Very cool.

And speaking of mashups, I threw together a big old mashup featuring ccmixter artists alundryn, hepepe, ztutz, and teru. Deeply Mashed features only the original source tracks, so i added nothing in terms of new material, just re-arranged and remixed the original tracks. Enjoy.

Apollo Nove, Brad vs. Mortoray, Ms. Vybe

Just wrapped up some new remixes. These are also posted over on
ccmixter.

Apollo Nove is a Brazilian songwriter and producer, whose tracks I remixed for the Crammed contest on ccmixter. I stuck to entirely his original source tracks for my remix "Apollo's Creed"

I also put together a new mashup that features most of the original source music for Brad Suck's "Making Me Nervous" but instead of Brad's vocal track I swapped it for this death metal stream-of-consciousness vocal track by Mortoray. So instead of making me nervous, it's making me angry.

Finally, i've got another remix by Ms Vybe, you know it Sucks4u. enjoy.

Remix me

I offered up the source tracks for my Jack Shite song "Naked on the Meach" over on Remixfight! You can download the individual source tracks from my song, make a new version, make a completely different song, slice them up, go crazy with them. then, hopefully, you'll send your new mix in to remixfight for all the world to hear.

Stronger Than Dirt

New remix going up over on Remixfight! I took Fluffy Porcupine's "Stronger Than" and tried to trance it up, throwing a long panning echo on the vocals, and throwing a double filter on the synth to give it a wah guitar sound. Should be up soon, but here's a sneak peek.

More from the mixter

I've been spending a fair amount of time lately over on ccmixter, mostly because i think it's one of the best resources for open source music on the internet, and it's got a real cool community of like minded people. I've taken some of their source and worked up some new remixes with a number of artists there.

Slamlord gets things going, featuring vocals by Teru, with lo tag blanco kicking in some fine horn, beats, and synth tracks, and Lisa Rein bringing her excellent backing vocals. this was fun to do.

Strange Little Sunrise is a little mashup i threw together featuring the vocal work of Diane Jessurun with some of Future Boy's source tracks from "Strange Little World".

I was trying to go theatrical with Choose Valsinha which features a nice track by Gerador Zero with an a cappella vocal track by Ran Dumb Dots.

Some New Remixes

I've got a bunch of new remixes I've done lately, that are also posted over on cc mixter. I figured I'd post them here too. Check them out, share them, enjoy.

First one features an a cappella vocal track from cc mixter artist Shagrugge:

Advertise the Subliminal (Shagrugge remixed)

Next is a Brad Sucks mashup with cc mixter artist Dr. Concoction doing the rap:

Gimme a Minute (Dr. Concoction vs. Brad Sucks mashup)

here's another remix I did for the Fort Minor remix contest:

Remember the Other Name (Fort Minor remixed)

Finally we have a remix of Colin Mutchler, another cc mixter contributor.

The Blue Ocean (Colin Mutchler remixed)

Remember My Name

I submitted a remix to the Fort Minor Remix Contest that's going on right now over on ccmixter. I didn't use any of the original beats and instead opted for my own. from the original source, i used the strings (most of them) and the vocal track. You can find my track here. Give it a spin.

A Little More News

I got news from my friend Dr. Kongbalong that my Future Boy remix was one of the select few to make his follow-up EP to his excellent "A Maze of Death" CD. Check it out on his website. I also gave Ms. Vybe another flip, giving her "A Little More Sunshine".

I've also got a remix of Fort Minor's "Remember The Name", which I'll be submitting for a contest on cc mixter. I'll post it up next week sometime after I submit it.

The Buddha Vandana remix

Another new remix over on Remixfight! It's a remix of a track called "Voice of the People" by The Snyder Conglomerate, a local slug from the Cruz. Most of my remix is made up from his original source, and I added another GWB sample I had leftover from fight 10. I also threw it for a figurative loop by adding a buddhist chant track I found. “Buddha Vandana - Homage to the Buddha” recited by Venerable Indaratana Maha Thera.

Brush Your Teeth

New remix over on Remixfight! It's the Kompressor classic Brush Your Teeth. I tried to use the eggshakers for brushing effects.

Mustang

I've got a remix of Ms. Vybe's M-U-S-T-A-N-G over on Remixfight!. It's not too late to go show me some love. At least go check out the others. I especially like the remix by Rinky Dink.

Monogomous

New mashup featuring the fine talents of DJ Lang doing the wicked flow and Future Boy kicking in the oohs and ahhs. I was monogomous, and now it's me, you, and him.

Score

I got the highest form of flattery for me recently when I was asked to contribute one of my remixes to a movie soundtrack. Some independent film called "Gypsy Feet", being filmed in Dubai of all places. It's my remix of Brad Sucks "Overreacting"

I'm pretty sure brad's given his consent as he asked me about it.

Making My Africa

I did another mashup today, which features P. Mac, a rapper from ccmixter and my old buddy Brad Sucks, whose music basically provides the backing track. I used an acapella from P. Mac called "Africa" and the source music from Brad's "Making Me Nervous" and came up with "Making My Africa". Enjoy.
